We’re conveniently located at 6160 Jericho Turnpike in Commack, NY!
This week we’re taking a moment to talk about budgeting your time. The single most common excuse I hear from people who hesitate to workout at LIFW gym in Commack is this:
“I don’t have enough time.”
When people feed me that line, I have them fill out one of my infamous time audits.
I want you to try this drill at home (so I won’t have to embarrass you with it in person).
Grab a pen and paper and write “168” big at the top. That’s the number of hours in a week.
Now add up the number of hours you spend on everyday things like working, commuting, sleeping, spending time with family, etc. and subtract that number from your total, 168. This is how much time you have left over to do other stuff with your week.
Let’s look at an example.
Let’s say you work 60 hours a week with 8 hours of sleep each night. (I know most of you don’t sleep 8 hours, but you should.) That’s 60 working hours plus 56 sleeping hours for a total of 116. That leaves 52 hours left, more than two full days.
If we add in 10 hours for commuting, 3 hours for grocery shopping, 6 hours for household chores and errands, and 20 hours for family/leisure time, that totals 155 hours. So you still have 13 hours left. And yeah, stuff comes up, but that’s not an excuse. The reality is you always have time.
So hey, it only takes you one hour a day to exercise. That leaves you with all sorts of extra time to do other stuff like play XBOX and write poetry.
Run your own time audit and take control of your schedule.
Send me an email and let me know how it goes, unless you’re too busy for that too…
Catch you next time,
ProteinPa-…. (sorry gotta run)
Studies show that less than 5% of people who want to get fit actually follow through.
JUST SHOW UP, GIVE IT YOUR ALL, AND WE'LL TAKE CARE OF THE REST.
